The idea underlying the Eu/phoria project is to transform a material used in the automotive sector, for car
interiors, to make a large, comfortable monocoque shell.
The material, Woodstock, is a compound of polypropylene and powdered wood; it comes in extremely hardwearing and flexible thermoformable sheets.
Beyond this already innovative idea of using an industrial material, enhanced by the design, eumenes has dedicated itself to vast research into fabrics to be bonded to the shell in the moulding phase.
Thanks to the technology employed, the fabric that upholsters the shell is glued and cut perfectly flush during the moulding, and can be matched with soft polyurethane (eumenes patent pending).
