The designer Alexander Lervik takes on the challenge to give Nordic Sea Hotel a brand new look. With 367 guest rooms at Vasaplan, the hotel is one of Stockholm's largest. Total renovation starts in 2011 and the prototype rooms will be ready in time for the Stockholm Design Week in february.
After fierce competition among various design studios Alexander Lervik got the mission to give the hotel a new look. Nordic Sea Hotel is also Lervik's first hotel project.
The hotel is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2011 and will face the new decade with a new look.
"It's very exciting to further develop the Nordic Sea Hotel's local concept. The hotel is not part of any brand, and it is important to maintain the personal, individual touch. My vision is to design 367 unique guest rooms, all different from each other. Stockholm pictures are important elements and the interior is custom designed for each hotel room. I have developed a new chair produced by Moroso and fittings produced by Dark. One could say that the feeling after the renovation is like a boutique hotel, but on a far larger scale, "says Alexander Lervik.
