Borge Mogensen designed the chair J49 in his shop in Copenhagen year 1944. The economy was difficult back then and Mogensen's philosophy was that good design should be accessible to anyone.

J49 can be placed in any home. It has clean, bold lines defined in beech. The chair was reintroduced during the year 2012 by Fredericia.
