Designer Peter Svarrer  adopted the challenge when he created theHolmegaard new series Nordlys and gave the old jam jars new life as a modern glass art.

Holmegaard shows the way of the new recycling trend of glass series Nordlys. All products in the Nordlys range have been created by the melted jam jars plus a glimmer of the northern lights that occasionally can be seen on the northern night sky. The series is handmade and made from recycled glass. The Nordlys collection consists of a drinking glass,  a cup and tealight holders,
